Why Care?
Turning a tree into paper uses lots of water and chemicals. In fact, the paper industry uses more water than any other industry in the United States. It also releases unhealthy toxic chemicals and air pollutants.
And despite all those recycling bins you see, we still throw away
a lot of paper. In fact, paper products take up 30 to 40% of landfill
space. Choosing recycled paper with the highest post-consumer waste
content helps protect forests, cuts pollution, and reduces solid
waste.
Read more about how paper is made and what's needed in the process in the Paper Life Story.
