Buy Factors
Buying Factors | Marketing Techniques | Shopping Quiz

"What kind of consumer are you? Take the following quiz to find out!"

1. "Going shopping is like:"
"Mowing the lawn. You have better things to do."
"Playing with your little brother. Sometimes fun, sometimes not."
"A wild roller-coaster ride that you don't want ever to end. Leaving the mall with an armload of shopping bags from all the best stores leaves you feeling thrilled."

2. "You walk past your favorite store and see their newest item in the window. Are you most likely to:"
"Chill for a week or so and decide if the item is worth it?"
"Take a look at the item, walk around the mall, think about it for a while, and then decide whether to go back for it before you leave?"
"Rush in, throw down some plastic, and buy it? If it's there, you NEED it."

3. "You're enjoying a meal of chicken nuggets when your friend asks, ""What part of the chicken is in those things?"" You:"
"Decide to do a little research so you know what you're chowing down on next time."
"Realize that no chicken naturally produces ""nuggets,"" but you never get around to finding out what goes into nuggets and why it matters."
"Say you don't care what's in them as long as they taste good."

4. "You're watching TV one day when a newscaster reveals that a popular clothing company has a bad environmental record and works with factories overseas that don't treat their workers well. You:"
"Decide to avoid that company and learn more about which companies have the best environmental and social practices."
"Keep shopping at that store, feeling a little guilty every time and promising yourself you'll write a letter to the company expressing your concerns, even though you never do."
"Decide you can't change how companies make their clothes and keep buying whatever you like best. Besides, anything you buy has already been made. What can you do about it at that point?"

5. "You love bananas. You've heard that some bananas are grown in ways that help protect the environment and the workers that pick them. But you don't really know much more than that. What do you do?"
"Find out more about which bananas are OK to buy and then look for them at the store."
"Buy the best-looking bananas, hoping they're the ""right"" ones. "
"Just run in and buy any banana. You've got more important things to do than worry about fruit!"
